July 4th is a time to enjoy a long weekend, fire up the grill, enjoy some live music at The Black Walnut Brewery and have a few rounds of cold, delicious, patriotic beverages on a hot summer's day!
Dodging the parades and dragging our canoes behind us, we setup on a wonderfully mild summer day... and got to spend the afternoon with an incredible group of people. THE BWB is a terrific host and one of the best places in Leesburg to spend some time with friends. The crowd was fun and very responsive and we had an absolutely lovely day. Thank you again for a great event, for the celebration of a country that isn't perfect, but still gets a lot of things right and for your support of local music! We hope to see you again very soon!

The Rockers were honored to play a summer event at Spanky's Shenanigans in Leesburg, VA in support of some excellent charity work.
The Pipe Hitters Union MC hosted their annual charity bike wash, complete with door prizes, raffles, auctions and some extraordinary generosity from their members and other clubs joining in to support. We had a great time playing classic rock on a lovely summer afternoon! But even more than that, we were simply amazed at the generosity and heart of this event. People dug deep to help a local member cover medical bills (from COVID) - raising thousands of dollars in local support for a member in need. It was a series of great moments, and it was deeply encouraging to see people love each other and move to need a real need in a practical way. Score: Humanity 1, Small-Minded Selfishness 0 So from the Beltway Rockers, we say, well done PHUMC! And well done Spanky's for hosting this event... we were very pleased to share a beautiful afternoon with you! There is a venue for live music you simply have to visit this summer... Battlestreet in Historic, Old Town Manassas, Virginia. They sponsor live music on Friday and Saturday nights through the summer in a lovely outdoor setting, with great food, great music and great company. Check it out from the button below. Our band, the Beltway Rockers, got to play here on Saturday, June the 5th and it was a great gig, with an amazing crowd. They actually block off the entire street, allowing the band to setup on the street itself and bring some lovely sound to the patrons of three restaurants: These restaurants have banded together to fund an outdoor concert series, allowing us to enjoy incredible Virginia summer evenings with friends, music, and tasty beverages of all kinds. And as the bands hit their groove, people were smiling, laughing and to dare the cliche'... literally dancing in the street. Can we say that this is a genius idea? All three restaurants share the cost of the bands, but get 100% of the benefit. This provides an amazing opportunity for bands and local artists, it helps the local restaurants and staff and is, of course, a lovely venue for the people of the great northern Virginia community. It's very definition of a win - win - win. So hat's off to Monza, Okra's and the Public House for creating one of the best environs in all of Northern Virginia to enjoy a meal and some good local music... we absolutely adored spending an evening with you and can't wait to return! The Beltway Rockers are an extraordinary rock / funk / dance experience in the greater DC area... and they will be back on Battlestreet in Manassas on August 14th, 2021! |
